My wife & I are looking to come out to Spain to retire in the near future. We initially looked at the Turre area & also Arboleas but are now quite drawn to Cuevas de Almonzora.

Any tips or information from anyone living there will be appreciated. We like the idea of it being more 'Spanish' than some of the other areas.

Thanks in advance.

Andrew.

Hi

I live around Cuevas Del Almazora and enjoy the area very much. It is very much a ‘Spanish town’ although the costas of Vera, Villaricos and Palomares are only a short drive away. Cuevas does not have a ‘tourist’ feel, although are other Europeans living there. There area is mainly agricultural and for this reason there are a number of migrant workers, mainly of African/South American origin. There are a number of villages that fall within the catchment of Cuevas, thus adding to charm of the area. I hope this is useful.

Thanks for this. We have been to the town twice and very much like the old town. We look forward to coming back when our home is sold and are i a position to purchase a property.
