Thanks. I assumed that if you owned 2 properties you could be a resident over here also, in fact i thought it was highly advisable. Perhaps am mistaken. I did read her original post however.

According to the nhs website, quarantine should still be observed:
If you’ve been in any of the countries not included in the UK’s ‘travel corridors’ – places you can visit without needing to quarantine on either side – you will have to self-isolate for 14 days, even if you take a test and it comes back negative. This is because it can take up to 14 days for symptoms to develop and in this time the virus can be passed on (albeit unknowingly).
So it is irrelevant if a test is negative; quarantine still applies and a fine can be levied if anyone is found to be in breach.

It doesn’t matter if you are visiting Spain & returning to the UK or are a Spanish resident flying to the UK for a visit. Quarantine regulations apply equally to both (unless you are employed in one of the occupations that are exempt).

From gov.uk
“
Coronavirus (COVID-19) and entering or returning to the UKIf you’re a resident or visitor travelling to the UK from any country, you must provide your journey and contact details. If you do not do this before you arrive it might take you longer to enter the UK.
You’ll also need to self-isolate in the place you’re staying for the first 14 days after you arrive, unless you’re travelling from certain countries or territories.”
Spain is not on the exempt list.
. . . . . . (God! Give me patience) . . . . amazing how many experts there are reading rules to suit themselves. If you visit the UK (no matter who you are and unless your profession is exempted) you must self isolate for a minimum of 14 days.
I can't understand how some English speakers have difficulty in translating that into English.
