Hi Everyone
As a holiday property owner up in the hills above Aguadulce (who intends to spend more time there now I’ve retired!). Does anyone have any info on the proposed opening of IKEA in Almeria?
So many conflicting reports!
Cheers
Ian

It's not. I have read this in the local Spanish press and online. No expansion in Spain planned this year.

Hi Juanita, his seems to have been going around for a couple of years now! I’ve also heard that it maybe downgraded to a click and collect outlet; any truth in this rumour?
Many thanks

Many thanks anyway. If in your travels you hear of anyone doing so perhaps you could post it?

No Ian, there's one already in Granada I believe. For Almeria province you can use their package service for articles which don't weigh too much such as chair cushions, small shelves, curtains, linen and most things up to a certain weight. It tells you on their spanish web page what is the maximum weight to qualify and it only costs about 8 Euros. In addition, rates for furniture delivery are cheaper now to Almeria and are based on the amount spent. I think it's a 60 euro charge for an order of up to 1,200 euros approx and there's a table with the scale of delivery prices on their web page for this zone. There's a kitchen planning service kiosk for Ikea in the new Torrecardenas Shopping Centre too.

Because I usually come over for two or three months at a time I drive via Santander. I’m looking for a new wardrobe and was hoping to be able to sort it from Almeria; without the need of a three hour drive to Malaga or Murcia. Still, never mind!
Many thanks

Rapimeuble is a furniture shop which sells furniture in kit form if that's what you're looking for. In Roquetas there's one at 26 Carretera de Alicun, before you get to the Gran Plaza shopping centre. They will also deliver and assemble the furniture for a bit extra.
