My husband and I visited a week ago and stayed in Finca Listonero. We looked at a couple of properties in Cortijo Grande and walked around the area. We absolutely love it and would like to buy.

We have some questions however based on some things we'very read about. Any help for us to find out more would be gratefully received.

The town appears not to be  part of or covered by the nearest council for the purpose of roads, water supply or infrastructure. What impact does that have on residents and homeowners and how are facilities, repairs, upgrades etc paid for? Is there a town tax or factor who looks after the aforementioned. How does this work?

We noticed much concern on Facebook faces about water levels, sewage pipes and leakages. Is this a major concern and to what extent does it impact on general living?

Finally, fire is no doubt a concern in summer but how much of a threat is this generally?

As mentioned already, any advice most welcome

My wife and I have seen a nice villa for sale within Cortijo Grande. We are very familiar with the area having visited Mojacar / Garrucha for the last twenty odd years and presently own an apartment in Garrucha.

We are also vaguely aware of problems with the water supply which informal conversation seem to indicate has prevented the golf course expanding to the full 18 holes (as opposed to twice 9 holes). Is anyone able to provide an update on the current situation? Obviously we don't want to purchase a villa only to find a new clubhouse being built in the back garden.

Thanks

Phil
