What is an AFO and how do you get one?

Hi,

I'm trying to obtain permission to out minor renovations (obras menores) on my house in Cantoria. On submitting the plans and forms to the town hall, my application was rejected because I didn't have an AFO.

Does anyone know what this is and how I apply for one? Is it expensive?

Thanks for your help.

Hi, go to http://www.rmbspain.com/paginas.php?id=32

Then go to Jose Antonio Pardo, just down the road at the side of Dia, he will probably be cheaper.

If you require an interpreter PM me.

Thanks, I've read the link but was of the impression my house was entirely legal. On purchasing it last year, there was extensive documentation including architect's drawings, maps, purchase contract, (escritura de compraventa), registration document (Registrode La Propiedad).... Is this not sufficient for el ayuntamiento?

Which Dia? The only one I know of is in Albox....

Thanks for your offer of interpretation - I may well take you up on that. My Spanish is reasonable but not for legal or technical issues....

We are trying to sell a villa in Chercos however we need an AFO quickly as we have a buyer. We are dealing with the architects in Cantoria but having difficulty with translation as I speak little Spanish, can anyone recommend a local translator please?

HI, how did you go on with this?

I am in exactly the same situation - thought I had an entirely legal house only to be stopped getting a license to renovate with Cantoria town hall.

thanks george
