Is there provision for expats of pension age who have been previously  fitted with a pacemaker in the UK and who relocate  to Almeria province to have their pacemaker replaced when the need arises.

Hi from Mojacar Playa,

Are you signed on with a local GP?

If so then the normal route would be GP then referral to Cardiologist/ Cardiac Surgeon / Pacemaker Clinic assuming they have these here.

It would be of immense assistance if you could obtain a letter from your Cardiac Specialist in UK setting out your diagnosis, treatment, management and model of Pacemaker inserted. Go straight to the Cardiac Specialist not GP..Maybe you can ring and get his/her e mail address.

It would also be courteous to have the letter translated into  Spanish for both Drs. prior to appointments.

Hope that makes sense.

Thank you for replying to my post.  At present I  am in the UK but I hoping to move to the Almeria area in 2018.  However, I want to go to an area where there are facilities for pacemaker patients.  I have been having pacemakers fitted since a young age and I am retired now, so I would feel more content knowing that I can avail of such a procedure in or near to an  area to which I move.
