Anyone suffering from flu like symtoms.

We suffered terribly in July/ August. Mine went on for 3+ weeks and I consumed 3 courses of antibiotics. My wife suffered for 5 as she reacts badly to antibiotics. As well as the general flu symptoms  we had chesty symptoms with spasm so both used Salbutamol Inhalers purchased OTC from Pharmacy as were the antibiotics.

Have to add here I am a retired Dr and Officer so was able to treat confidently but I cannot remember feeling so ill.

So symptomatic treatment with rest and fluids. I like Brufen 600mg three times daily after food for pains and fever, Sandra prefers extra-strength painkillers from UK supermarkets which we ship in.

If your sputum turns yellowish/ green THAT'S infection so add an antibiotic like Amoxil or Augmentin,or if allergic to Penicillin, Erythromycin.
