We have decided (after 10 years of owning our Villa in Aljambra) to apply for permanent residency. We meet the criteria for income and capital. We realise that this will be a lengthy process but has anyone gone through the process recently? Any advice gratefully received! Sue Fincham

Hello we picked up our non lucrative visas from the Manchester consulate last week. We’ve used  Marina at bureaucracy.es to guide us through the process as there’s a lot of paperwork!  They took about 8 weeks to process the application. If you let me know what you’re concerned about I’m happy to answer any specific questions. Good luck!

Did you think your Greek residency permit gave you the right to reside permanently in Spain?

I will resist the temptation to be very rude. Enjoy your evening too. In Greece.

OMG how rude are you, Truenudisttoo asked a perfectly reasonable question.

Unfortunately, some people just can't help themselves Jenni. They seem to take great delight in being rude to others.

Couldn’t agree more. We don’t subscribe to any social media as we see from others how it escalates into a b*tch fest, however we joined this forum expecting constructive advice, guidance and pointers in the right direction not snide comments and sarcasm, I guess we will avoid this area, as the rumours about ex pats are obviously true, can’t say we weren’t warned.

Or even have the manners to say 'sorry, I got it wrong' if they post incorrect information.
