I am after a bit of local knowledge......I am coming out to the albox area for New year's eve and I'm hoping to take the kids sledging. I know there is a ski resort at Puerto de la Ragua, which is around 2 hours from our house, but does anyone know of any areas that are likely to have snow that we could go sledging more local?

Many thanks

Nick

The only snow you can see from Albox is on the mountain tops Baza way and you can't ski there.  There's some on the tops today so it's cold up there but to ski you'll have to go to a resort.

Thanks for the reply.

I was wondering if up near velez blanco or st maria nieve there would be somewhere we could go sledging?

There is snow at Cala Alto observatory at the moment so should be some up that way. It’s about an hour from Albox. I’m not sure if there is anywhere suitable for sledging though . They have webcams so you can check on the snow before you make the trip. http://www.caha.es/guindos/WEBCAM/EXTERNAS/ALL/all.html

Thank you.

I've never been up there so would be a great time to go and take a look.
