Exchange money

We are staying in albox for a few days,we cannot change money anywhere, I know people say use the atm but what do they charge, some say that’s expensive. Thanks

Hi,
It really depends on the bank cards you are using. Go online to your card company(s) and look up the charges for the cards you are carrying, and pick the one that has the least percentage of fees. I’m afraid I don’t know anywhere where you can use an ATM for free. However, when people say expensive, it will be roughly a single figure percentage of the amount you withdraw.
Next time you travel from home, apply for a specific card that gives you the ability to withdraw money for free. There are several cards like this. I think we used to use one of the early ones from Barclaycard, but the nature of these things is they offer these zero rates to get you to take out a card but after a while the deal will be withdrawn, so you then have to take out a different one to maintain the free withdrawals you’ve become accustomed to. But that’s the name of the game if you want to stay ahead of the financial companies! And who doesn’t?
