Hi

Looking to rent a property in Vera Playa for 4 months next winter.

If utility bills are not included do you normally pay standing charges for electric, water, internet etc as well as the amount used.

Thanks

Hi, we rented from January to June last year in Vera Playa via an agent. We paid a monthly fixed fee for the internet.

The water and electric bills, based on what we used, came through every couple of months from the agent. Not expensive and without a problem.

Regards, Tony

Hi Tony

Thanks for the reply.

Hi,

We rent our apartment out through an agent. If you are a long term renter (1 month or anything above) you will be charged the full bill for the period you are renting including all standing charges

We have a LT rental in Roquetas and pay all the utility bills, which are in the name of the owner but received by us at the property. The standing charges are included.

Electric bills are received monthly, the water bill is received every two months. The owner pays the bills by DD and we pay the full bill amount direct to the owner’s bank account.

I have eleven month lease and pay standing charge and usage - standing charge is nearly €40 a month for electric and my usage around €4!! Good question to ask re standing charges.

Just about to settle up after 4 months apartment rental. Anyone able to tell me how much per KWh/unit is a standard cost? Are there laws regarding landlords taking a profit on the resale of electricity or can she just charge as much as she likes. BTW we have had a wonderful time and the days just slipped gently past.

Just ask for a copy of the bill. It gives the dates it covers, our landlord gets a monthly bill in the post that comes to our apartment mailbox. It’s not as simple as KwH rates, there too many other factors on the bill elements. You are entitled to see the final bill and then work out your share of it.
