Wise app.  (Ex TransferWise) best rates available, foolproof, easy and can track funds all the way online

I've used Wise for several large currency transfers. Easy to use, reliable, fast and far cheaper than banks or the likes of Currencies Direct. 

Wise have great rates.  Always send a very small amount first as a test run.  You will then feel more confident making transfers.  Unless need urgently, transfer in small amounts over several days.  Just for peace of mind really. Would do the same with any tansfer provider.

You bank might also have limits on how much you can transfer in one go   Best to check.

And if you open an account with OFX or TorFx you won’t go too far wrong. But you can reassure yourself about them or any other foreign exchange company by checking with the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority  https://www.fca.org.uk/

There are thousands of scammers out there, this post has probably alerted a couple of dozens of them to what you are doing, so check carefully before you transfer your cash anywhere. 
Even if you are totally confident about the probity of the company you decide to use it might be a good idea to use two different ones and not transfer the whole lot in one go.
