The Tijola English Academy is looking for new teachers for its team to teach at the academy itself and also in the neighbouring towns and villages. If you would like to teach English to youngsters and adults in the Almanzora area then this is a very fulfilling way to be of service to the community and get to know people. If you have good Spanish then you can also teach the little ones.

We teach the Cambridge syllabus and, for intermediate and advanced students, our aim is to get them through the examinations and earn a certificate. I will equip you with the necessary books and a tablet computer.

If this opportunity interests you then please contact me through the forum and then we can make arrangements to meet and talk further.

Dear Kaushi,

How very interesting! If you should come to live here then I would very much like to discuss this further with you. The population density here in the Almanzora valley is quite low, mostly small towns and villages, and the people are not wealthy. This means that the academy only charges 5 Euros an hour and, in consequence, a teacher's pay is less than you will be used to. However, with 20 years of experience you sound like someone of mature years and, if you were to retire here on a pension or a private income of some kind, I can promise you a very satisfying life among absolutely charming people.

I need to replace two teachers. The first is a Spanish lady who, like you, is an elementary school teacher during the day. Unfortunately, her English has never really recovered to the upper intermediate level for which she earned a certificate several years ago and so she's just given me her notice because she doesn't think she is doing the academy justice. The second is an English lady who teaches for the academy in the surrounding villages but her part-time day employer has just offered her a full-time contract. I shall lose both at Christmas.

My private email address is paynepsquared@aol.com. Do please write to me again if you would like to know more.

Best wishes,

Peter
