My husband will, we think, need to fly home (we are UK residents) to attend the appointment on February 1st. It is in Norwich. I cannot find any flights that go to Norwich, from local airports, only Gatwick and then he has the journey all the way to Norwich by public transport :(

There are flights from Alicante to Stansted which would be better. This means I will have to drive him to and collect him from Alicante. Any tips on the ease, or otherwise, of doing this? It is many years since we flew into Alicante and then we did not drive from the airport. Is the parking easy? Can he get to Turre by public transport or to another nearby town?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thank you, that's very helpful.

I have just seen that Murcia Corvera airport will be running flights by then. Ryanair are flying into Stansted so that might be a better option than Alicante.

It looks like the last flight in to Norwich is on the 6th of jan 2019. You could fly into stansted ? And get airport transfer or hire a car .

Thanks Michael, that looks to be the preferred option. if we do need to go we may well meet you there!

We are just waiting to see if the hospital appointment is really necessary or whether it can wait a while. It is a follow-up after an echo cardiogram.

Hi,  if your Husbands appointment is with the cardio dept. At the N&N I would phone them and explain that you are flying in from Spain and double check that the consultant will be there before booking flights, unless you can get a full refund from the airline.

We visit that department, well we did up until recently and have had a few appointments cancelled at short notice.

At this time of year it may be worth looking at Luton as an option.

Best of luck.
