I am discussed with monarch after missing our flight home with easy jet through food poisoning the only way back was with monarch the cost £880 for two seats

Every right to be disgusted with Monarch. €800 is extortionate.
Have you tried jet2 ?, I think theyre flying out of Alicante.
Partners parents are coming with jet2 for Christmas and for three passengers return are only paying around half of what Monarch are trying to screw you for.
Get on the web site and see what you can get. Try flights out of Murcia too in case there are any cheaper deals than Monarch.
