These are the 18 most sustainable tourist beaches in Almería in 2024. Eight of these beaches are in the Roquetas de Mar municipality and have a unique 14kms paseo and cycle track running alongside them, and all have blue flags. The iconic Blue Flag is one of the world’s most recognised awards for beaches, marinas, and sustainable tourism where stringent environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility criteria must be sustained.

The XXII Ecoplayas International Beach Congress and Exhibition has awarded banners that will also fly in the summer and distinguish the quality of beaches from an environmental, tourism and sustainability perspective. They are like Blue Flags, but in this case promoted by Atregus (Technical Association for Waste Management and the Environment), while the Blue Flags are awarded by ADEAC (Association for Environmental and Consumer Education). .
