Hi all,

I've read and followed some fabulous advice over the last few months and I'm hoping that one of you lovely people will be able to help now, too.

I've lived and worked over here for the last five years with residency, padron, social security contributions etc and no problems. Recently, I've had to renew my UK passport and I wondered if this means that I have to notify the Spanish authorities about this???.  Do I have to update residency et al?

Fingers crossed, someone out there will be able to advise me.

Thanks in anticipation.

Residency, once granted, becomes permanent automatically after 5 years. You do not need to renew it. However if you want it stamped on your card after 5 yeears as ‘Permanente’ then you should renew it, using the appropriate form.
