Hi - can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to get a new copy of the document stating your NIE number - I didn’t realise they carried an expiry date and I need a new copy to get a digital certificate from the Ayuntamiento. Thanks, Andy

Sadly not, will require you (or your representative) to appear at Almeria to make application for re-issue of NIE document. You will need to make an appointment at Oficina de Extranjeria using sede electrónica. Unless you have plenty of time on your hands, you’d do worse than to hire a Gestor to do it for you (NIE numbers can be handled by a representative)

Probably not the answer you wanted … but on the bright side, once you have your digital signature, you can do sooooooo much more online - it really is worth the trouble to get.
