...ver 20 miles a week.  When looking at the insurance cover it looks like the majority is for cancellation and cost of damaged luggage.  We only need flights and taxis (had 2 lots of flights cancelled already and Jet2 refunded the money very quickly) so don’t need cover for cancellation.  Have our own apartment so therefore no luggage.  It seems as though we are paying an awful lot of money for something we don’t need.  Any suggestions?

Do you have credit cards. Some offer travel insurance as part of the deal. Indeed I have a debit card that does that too.
