Morning to all and a slightly odd question 🙂 Does anyone living in or near Las Marinas know what that phenomenally loud noise is? We’ve heard it a few times now, but never gone on this long. It’s like a very loud firework (or shotgun) - goes off about every 20 or 30 seconds. Can’t see anything from where we are, but wondered if it might be something to do with the extension they’re constructing at the Gabriel Cara primary school? Fortunately, our dog is totally immune to fireworks/loud bangs - some of the other local dogs aren’t quite so happy! As I’m typing it seems to have stopped. It’s not a problem really, but was just curious 🙂

And the mystery is solved someone is letting flares off - no idea why, since they’re smack in the middle of a residential area, but that’s what it was as hubby actually saw one (and heard it obviously) when he took the dog for a walk.

Another possible couple of answers.

1, The loud bangs are to scare birds away from growing areas where smallholders get pesky birds eating crops.

2, Rabbits !! There are lots n lots and he bangs are variously as guessed, shotguns and even dynamite dropped down rabbit holes to kill them off or scare them away.

Obviously not in residential areas but kind of rural or semi rural areas it's been happening, even last Sunday !!
