Hi all, while we are very careful not to leave any food or crumbs around, and regularly disinfect worktops, floors & bathrooms, we still have a lot of tiny insects in our apartment. Is there any chemical that will remove them?

Thanks, Liam.

Hi Liam, are they tiny black ants. If they are, they are what the Spanish call Hormigas. You can get traps to put down around your place. which they go in and eat it, and take it back to their nest. They get in any hole, like light fittings etc, and try yo get in cupboards for food esp sweet stuff, and my cat and dog food.

Alternately fly spray kills them.

Hope this helps.

You get the traps for the Hormigas in Mecadona's.

Hi Maureen, yes, those are the ones we have and they’re a real annoyance. I looked at YouTube as Bob & Sandra suggested and bought white vinegar & baking soda yesterday to see if that mixture will keep them off the work surfaces etc so today is a cleaning day! I’ll check out our local mercadona & get those traps you suggested.

Thanks for your help. Liam.

Hi Liam, the ants used to be bigger than that a few years ago, and then we now have these tiny ones. As you say they are infuriating. I was using my loo one day, and something caught my eye, moving along against the wall in the loo. They were even coming from the door jamb and exploring the bathroom.

Good luck.

Maureen
