Hi we live in Purchena  very close to urracal 

We love the area it’s very Spanish which is what we wanted . Driving is essential and bare n mind Urracal is about 8/900 metres above sea level so the houses can get cold in winter . Saying that it’s not freezing like the uk is on winter I’m in shorts practically the whole year . We didn’t rent as we new we wanted to live in rural spain

As for walking there’s as much as you want in fact Urracal has just opened an 11km nature trail. As for food there’s loads of taps bars around the area olula Purchena Sufli sierro all have great tapas and then there’s the natural balsa in cela where the water drops no lower than around 22 de

Before you get here.. .at your nearest consulate 

My advice is buy somewhere that has lovely bars & cafe’s so don’t buy in Arboleas the bars are pretty grim … the only place that’s decent is the local Italian Luigi’s after that forget it.
