What is Lubrin like at Christmas?
Hi
We have been to Lubrin many times but not at Christmas, just wondering if the bars and restaurants are still open and if there are any fiestas on.
Spain doesn't really celebrate Christmas, three Kings 6-8 January are celebrated thou.
Some of my Irish friends have been spending Christmas + January in or near Lubrin for years and indications to me are they enjoy the place and its people. I should add these are serious athletes (not necessarily just athletics) and their training regime is pretty trying. They make no secret that training is their number one reason and would not be people who'd be dining and drinking out nightly. For the record these people wouldn't suffer fools and they have nothing but good to say about wintering in Lubrin.

Hi,
Christmas Eve is a family time and the bars close late afternoon so the owners and staff can spend the time with family and go to church etc. Christmas Day they are open as usual, but the real celebration is as Sveinb said. There is the procession of the three Kings on 5th January and that's when the children get their presents.
Christmas is more low key than we have been used to coming from UK and you have to make your own entertainment, which is very easy with the friendly bunch in Lubrín! If you come along to a bar over Christmas I'm pretty sure you will find someone to share a drink with.
Hope this helps.
