Visiting the area

Hi we sre hoping to visit this area in Feb/ March and would like to know about accommodation, car hire etc. We do not know the area but would be interested to find out more information. We are thinking of coming over later and staying for a few weeks with dog if poss. Looking to buy something but are new to this and just starting to look. We like Sierra Nevada. Like villages etc away from tourist areas and want to go walking in the hills etc. Where do we begin. Are flights regular.
