150 meters from the Garrucha townhall in the direction of Mojacar on the playa Centro de Reconocimiento.  open Mon Thurs Fri 11.30-2pm and tues wed 5pm to 7.30pm.  Tel 950460630 or 626634351. they do the photo there, take details of any prescription medicines and your old licence last time cost €50.  They speak english.

Have only just seen your reply as I didn't get any notification.

I wish you luck.  I sat my renewal test in July and was given a provisional authorisation for 3 months, bringing me up to October.  I found out that my new licence was sent off in August and just never arrived.  My test was in Vera, who were not very helpful, so the advice to go to Garrucha is very good.  I believe there are actually 2 nowadays, the one on the sea front and another in the 'Terrazas' which is above the large Chinese bazaar as you enter Garrucha from the las Buganvilas area.  I am still waiting for my substitute licence to arrive!!!

Looks as though your bad luck was down to the post office.

I went to the Terrazzas one last time. Not very impressed.

We used the one in Vera for our original licences, my husband used the one Alicia mentioned on the sea front for his renewal and it was much much better. He went Oct 14th and his new licence came this last week. It was €50.

Dear sir… I was under the impression that the Spanish and the British Governments where in talks about this.   I am 72yrs been driving for over 50yrs with NO accidents NO points.  I do not want to be taken a test. Let’s see what happens next.

renewing your spanish licence is different to changing your UK Licence for a Spanish one for which you now have to take a driving test.  If you already have a Spanish licence it is just the medical you need to pass. 

I am not renewing my license I want to exchange for a British one to a Spanish one.
