Firstly thank you or allowing us to join your site, Ann & I are looking forward tremendously to spending a month in your area including Xmas and New Year which is where we would like some advice.

As this is our first venture into being out of the UK for winter, we are wondering how the festive season is celebrated in coastal Andalucia. We are both elderly and we are bringing our little dog with us. After a month in Carboneras we shall be moving onto Almunecar then onto Conil de la Frontera but have realised that our month in each place will over run our permitted stay in Spain therefore one of these destinations will have to be a few days shorter than intended.

Any advice from your site members will be most appreciated (sensible please although we both enjoy a laugh!!) We are finding the planning of our trip very exciting and most interesting, we are determined to enjoy what years are left.

Thank you and good health.

Apart from finding Carboneras a bit difficult to navigate I can't offer any comments on it or Almunecar as we just don't know them well enough. But we did have a wonderful holiday in Conil in October 2011. Good restaurants on the beach - and what a beach!  We liked Conil and certainly hope to go back to see our friends there. Hope you get some useful info.

Thanks for the info Rob....the more we get the easier it will be to make the trip more enjoyable. I often think that before these sites where set up it must have been like Christopher Columbos setting off to discover the world!.
