Lots of cafe/bars and town hall in centre. Seems nice village and has small weekly market on Wednesday. Also has Supermarket's.

Vaguely know a couple of English people who live there that really like it. We drove through a few weeks ago and it seems very Spanish which is great so I would think a good balance.

We've lived here for two years now and love it. If you're more interested in integrating with the Spanish and their way of life and traditions then it's great.

Are the supermarkets big enough to do a weekly shop or would you need to go to another nearby town/village?  Is there a doctors in the village?  We have seen a villa that we like in the village but don't know much about Cantoria,  We have holidayed inSpain alot and were in the Albox area last year, we do like this area of Spain. Are there many bars/restaurants?  Any info about Canatoria would be useful.

Dia supermarket is smaller in Cantoria so not as much choice. I go to Fines or Albox for main shop. There are bars, but restaurants it something needed. There is a health centre in Cantoria on right before you get to the village. Good luck in your search, we love it here.

You can get most of what you want in the Dia - there is also a small Spar. Wednesday is market day so all fruit and veg can be bought fresh then. We do the weekly shop in Mercadona in Albox, where there is also a larger Dia and a Lidl. The health centre is good and Elsa, the receptionist, speaks very good English. There are no restaurants as such, just bars that do tapas. There is a Chinese that does limited food but is mainly a bar. Cantoria is a very old village with lots of old traditions and the small ex-pat community integrates very well with the locals and are happy to have been accepted by them and respect their way of life.

Many thanks for your replies they were very helpful. We are planning to come over to Cantoria, probably in June this year to stay in the area. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced holiday villa that has a pool that we could rent?  Many thanks
