HI,

Can u identify the service/s you require providing or feel you may need providing. Also, how you may access these.

Pls.factor in the need for an Interpreter as even.if they speak English they rarely will. I spk.from experience. So an additional 10€p/hr minimum.

Many Thanks  BOB for replying  , I  slways like to hear  from you , we were  thinking of moving  permanently  to Almeria  and ARBOLEAS  , but when we've  thought long and hard we think comming for 6months  may be better. I have a few problems  due to a road traffic accident  6yrs ago that was not my fault hense my claim is not settled  yet. My injuries  have caused me to have an ankle fusion and also a subtler hind foot fusion with metal pins.  Put that on top of asthma and  BP I  probably  should stay indoors !  . I know the climate would be very benifical and  I  don't  want to drain the Spanish health Care, I  can see our dream disapping  fast. Sorry for the message  like war and  peace Bo b but I  would value your input. KIND REGARDS JILL.

Hi,

I can understand your concern & reticence and remember legally if you are in Spain more than 6 months then you need to apply for Residencia although how they know or if they check is another matter.

So maybe an NIE from the Spanish Embassy in London would be a good idea and I believe you can apply on line. Someone posted that if you go it's about 8€.

So to healthcare. Most of this should be managed by the GPs in Albox or wherever so you would turn up with your EHIC, Passport, medication & as importantly an INTERPRETER. Now I know this is subterfuge but if you are seeking follow up regarding ankle symptoms 'feign' that you have fallen or twisted and so it becomes an acute matter. To this end it would be an idea to obtain copies.of your X rays from your local hospital as if they refer you to Urgencias/ A&E at Huercal Overa for Specialist treatment/ check X-rays they have comparison films.

You can deal with your Bronchial asthma in the same fashion saying it appears to be becoming more problematic due to dust, spores. Etc. Then also mention the BP although most local pharmacists will take these.

You will attempt to come with 3 months medication but thankfully, for us as well, you can purchase most OTC at any pharmacy.

If you are under a Chest Physician & or Orthopaedic Surgeon ring their secretaries at the hospital and ask for copies of recent correspondence to your GP. These are usually provided FOC unlike GPs who often want up to £50 just for photocopies / letters, etc.

Think that's.most but pm me if any additional queries.
