If so how do we obtain a GHIC card for health cover when travelling to other EU countries?

Hi Mona, by SIP card do you mean your Spanish health card?  If so yes your S1 is registered in the system.  To get your GHIC you need to go back to the nhsbsa.nhs.uk website and fill in an online application.  

I tried to do mine when I started the process but the S1 was still not registered so all I got was a reference number.  ...
