Arboleas per se as you may find covers a wide area. The further you get the more remote. Quoting specific remote areas isn't easy.

Nothing like boots on the ground to find out for yourself.

When we first considered moving from the UK, simply by going off the numbers of great villas, (and great prices) we considered Arboleas and looked at distances from the actual village/town centres.

You'd be close to Albox, around 45 minutes to an hour from the coast and some great beaches.

Lots and lots of villas have great pools, from what seems the standard 8 metre x 4 metres up to 10, x 5 metres. Given the great weather at the minute, a family day around your pool with bbq might suffice, we've had friends say it's been too hot to get gear ready to go to the beach.

Throw in some great restaurants and food within around 30 minutes you shouldn't have to bother too much about family/friends having a great, relaxing time with ya'll.  Best of.

We bought a house in Afoquia (5-10 mins from Arboleas) and love it but it is village life. We have our own pool but there is a communial pool that is huge and well maintained. Plenty of bars, English fish and chip shop and a good ex-pat community. My family came last year, kids from 2 - 18 years of age and all loved it. BBQ's every night, fun in the pool and a few trips to the coast, water park and many restaurants. You will find the cost so much cheaper than the UK. Spanish people are brilliant and really friendly in our village, always say hello.

Zurgena is 5 mins away and similar, has bars and plenty of ex-pats and some nice areas

Los Cristianas which is the behind Arboleas is a lovely area, big villas with private pool and a haven for ex-pats but a bit remote. You can walk to the to town in 20 mins but steep hills

None of the above are anywhere near as big as a village in the UK

Albox is the main town 15 mins away and all shopping done there, not somewhere I would live but for others OK

Vera Player is on the coast which is 30 mins away so more of a holiday feel and Mojarca is a busy coastal resort but not a home

Hope of use

Thankyou so much for all the info we are looking at booking some flights to have a good look around all the areas. Also thinking about renting for a while to see which ones we like best.

Lots of people recommend renting to get a feel for a property or area etc.

Currently we've been sent all kinds of properties from and including Albox to Antas, thu Garucha, Arboleas of course, all types, 2/3 beds some with pools, most everyone with great views, "spoiled for choice" comes to mind so take youre time.

Partner's decision to buy vs rent was based on having vacationed for the last 4 years staying with a friend and enjoying the area etc, (Urcal close by Huercal Overa with it's great hospital etc) we were let down on one property that didnt have a pool, due to a range of circumstances vaguely out of our control, were shown 7 properties by Coles on a Saturday when we came to view different villas in different area centred around Arboleas but were then lucky that an English family were selling up literally a stones throw away from her friend, double plot, great pool etc etc, made them an offer which was accepted in 90 minutes and we've been moved 5 weeks now tho partner's furniture only came 3 weeks ago lol.

Best of luck finding your new home whether a rental or long term a great villa in a nice spot.

If you didnt know already, Almeria airport and Murcia are equidistant from us at roughly an hours travel tho distances vary and Alicante airport is a little further.

To bring partners rhd car down we came by ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao and stayed in an air bnb in Madrid to break up the journey, motorways, motovias are great with little traffic. You'll ned a car to get around and view places.

Anything else we can help with just ask.
