Hi, I'll be moving to Zagena in the next 4-6 weeks. Does anyone know of any bench joiner or CAD operator jobs going?

Without wishing to crush your dreams .... in this area, very very very very unlikely, and if you don’t speak Spanish .... even more unlikely.  It’s possible jobs such as that are available in the bigger cities, but even then you’ll need to be at least conversational in Spanish to stand any chance

Many many thanks for that, might need a drastic career change. What's the most common employment in the area?

In truth ... Barman / waiter during high season; if your lucky, all year. Or builders labourer, thought that can be patchy.

The challenge most of us face is that unless you have a highly specialized skill - which admittedly you do - that is in high demand, any other jobs are going to go first to family members and friends of the employer - such is the way down here.

A lot of people though simply start their own business and make their way that way.  I’m a software / network engineer - or at least was; I now have a Wellness Centre in Vera, offering a variety of services and related products.  I had to study and re-skill to aid me in this venture, but it seems to be working.  That is one way to make it ....
