Hi

Not a problem as long as your UK insurance covers you for period away and also your MOT. We travel over twice  a year, easiest way with dog, and have no problem. We also have international breakdown cover for maximum 90 days. Have been pulled over a couple of times near Mojacar, but on both occasions been waved on when they see british plates. Also remeber to check your house insurance in UK covers you for extended absense.

Just to add to that I seem to remember most British car insurance will only cover abroad for a maximum of 180 days. But insurance companies will squirm our of any cover if they possibly can. I would suggest that if you were involved in an accident and needed to claim on your 91st day in the Schengen area and therefore had overstayed they would not cough up. I'm not saying that IS the case but, again, just not worth the risk.
