Just got back from a short break in Roquetas, couple of things I wanted to ask about, just passed the Playa Sol there has been an Italian restaurant on the same side for at least 25 yrs. it is now closed down and actually stripped out, any idea how come, as it was always really busy when we have been in for a meal. Also on the same side but further down there was an estate agent who had been there for years and has also closed. Again, any idea why? Thanks, Ian.

Casualties of the recession due to Covid, I would imagine.  A lot of hotels closed as people didn't want to travel or else preferred the  safety of a self catering option. Hotels were not offering the same services when we had lockdown and people just didnt fancy going to restaurants  especially those with with no or little terrace space.

Reason for the Patron to close was that his lease wss camcelled - change in ownership of the building (I was there on the last evening when the patron told the story)

Yes it was a shame as the atmosphere was very good. If it Italian food in Roquets you’re after then I can recommend Roma, opposite the Sabinal   For older customers (a good description of myself) the menu del Dia, currently €12:95 is excellent value.

Also the Tapas restaurant part of El coto closed. We used enjoy going there. Don’t know why it closed either
