Anyone have any advice on how to dispose of old furniture, including a fridge, mattress, coffee table and tv unit? Thanks x

Just find the nearest charity shop and they will probably come and collect anything that is still usable. You will be helping a good cause then.

Hi Jan. I would donate them to a charity shop, or advertise them for anyone who would like them to take away for free, but the items are really not in a condition for anyone else to make use of. Thanks x

There are usually a couple of days in the month, around the 7th and 20th, where you put your old stuff by the bins and a big council wagon takes it away. Just check with neighbours and they should be able to tell you.

Best wishes,

Paul.

Many here in the part of Roquetas where we live (urbanization) leave stuff no longer of use next to the green communal street bin.

Leave any household items, beds, mattresses, heaters, furniture, kitchen units etc by any black/grey bin on the evening of the 20th and 6th of any month.

On these nights they will be assessed by the Refuse Collectors who will organise the truck to pick it all up.

This will be done either the next day or within a few days if they are very busy.

Its a new urban law that came into force last year.

Bear in mind rubbish dumped outside these dates will attract heavy fines if caught or reported.

The Spanish Government are hoping this system will work to keep the urbanisation clean and respected and hopefully not be abused by the mindless.
