I am guessing that Netflix in Spain is obviously in Spanish but my question is are there many programmes/films with English sub titles? Many thanks.

Not that many... We had same issue when we arrived. We were named on daughter’s U.K. account but once we moved to Spain the films and TV series were still accessible but the subtitles in most cases were not! It may be possible by using a VPN.
