Hi,

My family and I are looking to move to the Arboleas area within the next year or so, however I have found out that my current administrative working-from-home position would not be transferable to Spain.

Ideally I would be looking for an English teaching position in a local primary school, however I would also be interested in an administrative role.

I do not hold a degree and am currently in the process of learning Spanish, however I have been told that this would not be a problem.

Does anybody know if there are any positions available in the area/surrounding area?

Many thanks in advance for your replies!

Steve.

I am answering this based on the assumption you have a UK Passport … the bad news is on a UK passport, to now get a job you need a Work permit.  To get a work permit, you would first have to hold a skill that appears on the skills shortage register and that cannot be found elsewhere in the EU, then find a company in Spain prepared to offer you a full time contract (as an English teacher, unlikely - contracts are normally September to June) and then sponsor and apply for your work permit … don’t hold your breath.

English teacher does not appear on the skills shortage list  as there are an awful lot of qualified English teachers here already.

Most likely you will have to migrate on an NLV and that bars ANY remunerated employment (including, at the moment, digital / work from home) for the first five years.

how many more people are not in the know when it comes to the no work criteria for coming to Spain to live now.  it doesn't help when you have Place in the Sun and Sun,Sea and Selling Houses not giving that info plus one set of the new estate agents seem to be driving around in an english registered Porche convertable when presumably they are residents if they work here.  It's registered in the UK on DVLA.

Until Guardia pull them over then it’ll be tears before bedtime - there’s an example of just what can happen there in the post I put up about Padron advice

I noticed the same. Said they had been there 5 years. 🤷
