90/180 RULE

Thought I had got my head around this but obviously not?

How I thought it worked The start of the 180 days is exactly that, 180 days back from today or any date in the future and the 90 days are any time within that rolling 90 days.So if for example I have had 87 days I havewhen I leave the Shenanigan zone I have 3 days left and for rvery day out I gain a day.

Today I havuse two diferen calculators, two different results.

Start of 90 days period: 02/12/22

Start of 180 days period: 03/09/22

The stay may be authorised for up to: 3 day(s)

Start of 90 days period: 23/11/22

Start of 180 days period: 25/08/22

The stay may be authorised for up to: 3 day(s

Mark on a calendar first day and last day of time in Spain.  Count backwards from last day for 180 days.  Count how many days you used in Spain.  If less then 90 days in that 180 day period that is fine.  Plan you next stay. Count back from last day of entry and just make sure yiu have not used up more than 90 days in that 180 day period when counting back from that last date of that entry. You always count backwards but gain days to use as the days move on forwards.

1. MaggieB is right. Let's not complicate the uncomplicatable. Count back and not forward from any date.

2. Remember you may be "wiping" past days too. When you write it down, it will become clearer.

There are various free apps you can download which will do the correct calculations for you. I use them all the time and find them indispensable for obtaining maximum 90 day prr
