The best vets in the area are NEXO in albox old town. There are others I have tried them all and none of them compare to the care and treatment that Nexo provides. They have all the up to date equipment even a CT Scan.  Everyone speaks English, Sam the receptionist is English  ph. no. 0034 950430814.  Good luck with the move.  It is extremely hot here at the moment, so your dogs will find it hard, to adjust, I would suggest you keep them in the house during the day.

O Pat, if there is a pig farm in the area, not good, its depends how near, but the flies are horrendous, people move just to get away from the flies. and have to have screening put up just to eat outside and use the pool.  sorry. not what you wanted to hear.

Where about are you, we are renting for a few months just outside the village.

Not sure what area we will be looking at, My little Molly a little Jack Russell is so afraid of fly's, she hide's even if there is one in  the room.

I think she's gonna need counselling.

We live in Oria, there are no pigs or chicken farms around here. you would do well to contact  an Estate agent called Shepherds Rest, they live and work in Oria and have rentals and for sales and have a huge knowledge of the area. Its run by Cori you can email her on      hello@shepherdssalesandrentals.com   they also have a website. with phone number if you want to chat. My little Yorkie doesn't like flies either, but we dont have many up here.

You'll find flies everywhere, deterrent sprays & netting are the best option.

As for pig farms, this is often talked about on forums and the like, but I don't know how many of the posters actually live near pig farms? I say this because they also talk about goat farms in the same way. Well I live a bout 1km from a goat farm, and the herd is driven past our house every day, and we don't have any more of a problem with flies than any one else!

Hi Thanks,

You seem to be quite rural.

Here in France we live in a quiet rural village so we are looking at somewhere a bit more activity.

We have a few months to look around Spain get a feel for the place.

Made a big mistake moving to France.

Hi there are flies everywhere as someone has stated previously but there are tolerable levels or not so tolerable!

We live in los carrascos which is part of Arboleas we have very few flies but they can be problematic in some areas. Happy to private message as I don’t want to cause any arguments on here lol we lived in rented accommodation for just over a year before buying it was very useful.
