My Wife and I are thinking of moving out to spain , we have been told so many different things it seems like we are being put off, how difficult is it really and would it be recommended. Could any body recommend a good solicitor to use in the Almería region who could help with this .

Almería region is very VERY big .... whereabouts in the Almería region are you considering? That may narrow it down a bit for reputable Abogados.
Would it be recommended? Oh. Hell. Yes. The cost of living is a fraction of what it is in the UK and the standard of living is beyond comparison. Spain is a huge country with a wide variety of climates and scenery to suit everyone. From the cooler, greener areas in the North down to the much hotter and more arid lands in the South.
The south of Spain arguably has the best coastal waters, many being on the Mediterranean, which may explain why in July / August we get deluged by Madrileños:-D
As to how difficult .... we’ll, if you get here before 31/12, then your path to residence is relatively easy and straightforward, and enables you to live and work here.
After 31/12, unless you are very wealthy, then moving to Spain will be very very difficult indeed. I won’t go into all the regulations and requirements, as there are quite a few posts on this forum already that deal with the requirements for coming to Spain post transition period.
Moya Marin in Almeria city were good to deal with. Carmina spoke good English and very helpful.

I agree with you. But, Almeria city is an amacing and safe place to live with plenty of opportunities and the best weather conditions that you had ever imagined

Well, you certainly like “arid” lol - Sorbas is close by where the various Spaghetti Westerns were filmed - High Plains Drifter etc

Hi. I always remember dithering about making the move to live permanently in Spain 9 years ago. A lady we met put her hand on my arm, looked me in the eyes and said 'do it' we did and have never looked back.
We recently moved to Cuevas del Almanzora from Antequera and used Angela Morales solicitor in Mojacar. She is fab as is Chloe who works there and is english.
Like that lady said to me, DO IT! Preferably before the end of the year...... 😏

Certainly agree with review of Angela Morales and Chloe in Mojacar. Nothing is too much for them and they handle everything and explain all the details for you . Would most definitely recommend them to anybody who is taking the first steps to purchasing a property
