Hi folks.

Only just found this forum. I've lived in Albanchez for nearly 15 years now and I'm proud to be part of the community and the local council.

Please message me if you have any questions regarding this lovely little village.

Steve.

Hi, we are looking to come to almeria in June for a few days and this time would like to stay in one of the little villages. How far from the coast is it? Does it have any bars and restaurants, and do you know of any holiday apartments or B and B there?  Sorry to bombard you with questions. Kind regards Dawn

No problem Dawn

We are 50 mins to the coast in a car. There are 5 bars in Albanchez, they all do food from tapas up to full menus. The Hostal Amanecer, in the village, has very reasonable rooms.

Hi

So glad you made the comment, but in response,my wife and I recently viewed a number of houses in the village, and later had a walk through the village centre.

At that time,we couldn't believe how dirty the roads were, scattered with litter and dog faecus. It really put us off buying there.

We didn't know if this was a one off,but it wasn't pleasant.

Just our views, and hopefully, you might be able to address.

Thank you

Sorry to hear you found the village in that state. We have recently had extensive work carried out on the main square in the village, that did cause some disruption.

We have a team of street cleaners that work mon to friday keeping the streets tidy. Unfortunately, as with most Spanish villages, we do tend to get a few stray cats roaming around, and some of the "older" Spanish folks think it is fine to leave their little dogs running freely.

I can assure you, any mess or untidiness reported to the town hall is sorted out as soon as possible.

Hi

Have to say we couldn't wait to relocate from Albanchez. Feeding to Albox.of which we only have negative feelings. Freezing in winter. 50min from Coast by Harrier and back-biting like you wouldn't believe.

The turnover of owners on the estates speaks for itself.

But then we all have different tastes.

Best Wishes,

Bob and Sandra

You want to be looking at areas like Pulpi, Vera, Huercal Overa if you want to be inland but 20 mins form the coast.
