Hello

My husband and I have just moved to Mar de Pulpí and are looking for a local bank where we can open an account. I speak a little Spanish, but am not that confident using it to open an account! Does anyone know if there is a local bank that has English speakers near Pulpí?

We also need to open a P.O. box at the post office as our address doesn’t have a mailbox.  Please can anyone advise me how to go about this and whether anyone at the post office in Pulpí speaks English also?

We are in the process of learning Spanish and I can usually speak better once I’ve had a drink 😂 but I just feel that some extra help right now would be great!

Thank you in advance for your help.

Saludos, Liz 🌞

Hi Liz, Cajamar bank in Aguilas have at least one English speaking member of staff. It’s the one in the square where the church is. With current restrictions I would try to arrange an appointment.

As for the Post office in Pulpi I’m not actually sure what language they speak as I’ve only ever heard them grunt. So definitely you will need a translator for that. Before that, check with Grupo Platinum as they may provide that service.

Good luck.

🤣 yes it would be an advantage. There was a girl there who was pleasant but she obviously didn’t last because of that. Also be aware the reception desk in Pulpi medical centre is manned by a Rottweiler. 😬

Hi, we also live in Mar de Pulpi, we bank with Sabadell with the branch in Mojacar, but our Solicitor told us that the woman in the Aguilas branch speaks excellent English ( we will probably change to this branch)

we also had major issues getting deliveries / post here, we use forget me not in Buganvillas near Vera which costs 50€ a year but has been excellent to date.

We also found out that the address given to us when we came here has apparently been changed🤦‍♂️

We would be happy to meet up for a coffee to run through what we know so far, we are in phase 6.

Regards Jim & Theresa
