Hi looking to hire person to lay decking around our new pool installation. Can anyone suggest a good wood supplier or a person to fit as getting quoted very expensive costs and want a more realistic price many thanks Julia

Might it be worth recommending "Wood 2 go" at puerto lumbreras ?, take your ideas/plans and from what I've heard they'll work with you to design a layout and maybe even recommend an installer.

Wood to Go are outstanding. They did this very thing for us some years ago which was just as well as the 'so called' carpenter, builder had overestimated by a full third. They used to obtain their decking from Wickes but now manufacture their own.

Nicer group of people you couldn't wish to meet & still get my preservative there.

They will advise about a fitter as ours was outstanding but then went ' to the dark side,' as so many brits do out here. Just Greed!!!!!

Best Wishes,

Only downside from what I've heard is that wood2go only do one sided decking pattern whereas Wickes/BnQ etc do two sided patterns but who cares ? Lol.

That was certainly so.in 2009 but a phone call.or e mail will clarify. Rumour had it the Wickes decking was seconds but when we discovered 3 or 4 substandard and marked.by lorry support bar they replaced with double the quantity delivered FOC.

Try the wood yard at Vera. Go to big roundabout with large fountain take dual carriageway along side Iceland. Go to next roundabout and then take slip road just past the hotel on the right. Next door to tiene 21 there is a Woodyard. It's good.
