It may interest you then to know that the person with the Duplex at the end of our block has a large garden and 5 very big dogs ..... just thought I’d throw that out there .....

Have a look at properties in Bédar which is just up from us in Los Gallardos. A nice mix of expats and locals, great restaurants but absolutely stunning views down towards Mojacar and the coast. It's a nice village.

We intend going down/up to Bedar at some stage, partner has visted with her friend a couple of times, community pool closed in August I think when she got there last time, other friends have visited and commented on the quality of the tapas and general food at the restaurants.
Here in Urcal we're roughly 40 minutes from the coast, 7-8 minutes from the motorway and about 12 minutes from Huercal Overa, everyones views and opinions are personal and subjective but we love it here, always nice to come home !! Darts night tonight at Bar Amazir lol.

We happen to like the coast and keep warm here in Roquetas urbanisation without any heating much of the time. There’s a good mix of apartments with communal pools, tennis courts, etc and also plenty of villas of various shapes and sizes.
We are a 15 minute walk from the beach and just a few minutes from a wide range of bars, tapas and restaurants that are open all year round yet it’s only busy for 3 months of the year when it fills up with Spanish holidaymakers. There are wide sandy beaches and the paseo is 14 kms and flat for easy cycling, with great views on most days of the bay, the Cabo de Gata headland and behind us in the distance, the snow-caps of the Sierra Nevada. Nearby is a huge nature reserve with flamingos at specific times of the year, and also a golf course.
Not many Brits live here but there are a few Brit bars and at our Spanish classes there are Germans, French, Italians, Chinese, Bulgarians and Irish - all very friendly. We also know of Brits that have settled their young children into modern local schools without difficulty.
Licenses hopefully sorted. Had to use Salvador on Mojacar Playa but outstanding efficiency & hopefully you get what you pay for. Approached 3 different agencies & differing responses & requirements from all 3.
Even the so-called experts/ providers/ facilitators appear not to understand requirements!!!!
Hope you enjoyed Valentine's Day.
Saludos,
Bob and Sandra
