Hi all, Happy Easter to one and all.

Is there anyone out there that knows the process of changing a house number and name? We bought in Urcal in September, we do not like the name and have found it is known by two numbers. Our solicitor can't help us with the numbering but in our deeds it does say a number but only on an electric bill. Would I need to go to the Town Hall with my Passport, NIE number and Deeds to see if they can help?

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Shay

Yes, in the townhall they can tell you what the right number is for your house. Changing a name isn´t a problem, that isn´t linked to any official status. Also, in the neighborhood they might refer to your house with the old name, but that is just local.

Yep. Our cottage was known 60 years ago  as House of the Cripple then Vista del Monte (on reform in 1990), and now House of the Blond syn Bastard. It doesn't matter as we have a PO Box.

Please don't go with House of Dreams. I'm running out of anti-nauseants.

Best Wishes,

Town hall can give you an idea what the house name/number  should be but it most likely wont be what its been known as or by.

Partners villa was described as Villa Lentiscar on the agents ad, and two other names which were irrelevant.

You can change the name outside your front door to anything you like, as long as it's not offensive or rude lol. Partner, well I did it changed the villa name but the number is still the same, anyone wanting directions we give as accurate a description in the village as we can.
