Pay as you go electric meter

Can anyone help me to find a pay as you go electric meter . Card or coin meter would be great . Just don’t want to pay €40 while I’m in the uk

In the UK the cost of electricity via a pre-payment meter is much higher than a credit meter simply because the cost per KWH has to include the standing charges so I don't suppose its any different here and they will get you either way.

I've yet to see a pre-payment meter over here however that doesn't mean that they are not available.

I would be interested to hear if anyone has one fitted?

That system does not exist here. You will always pay the minimum for having a contract.

 House-hunting near Albox a couple of years ago, we stayed in a 'villa' on the side of someone's home: it had a coin- meter that took ( I think I remember right) 2 euro coins. The rooms were cold and we needed lots of the coins to run the heater, they were very difficult to obtain!  This was clearly separate from the electricity supplied to the main part of the house. Would certainly not stay there again...
