Ah, not a simple question to answer! So many variables.

Are you a uk national... There's a specific process for uk nationals moving inside the transition period

Do you already live in Spain, if so are you registered on your local padron? This will speed up the process.

Do you work in Spain and pay into the Spanish system? This will speed up the process as you will already have healthcare cover.

If you are a uk national wishing to register your residency before the end of the year, I strongly suggest you contact a gestor or even better a couple of them in the local area you plan to move to, and ask their advice.  If you mention which town you are in then someone here may be able to recommend a name

As has been stated there are many variables but for us.

To get a rental, get Padrón, apply online in Alicante (using Babelia) to receiving positive confirmation was just under 5 weeks.

We now having the fun of trying to book our second appointment at the police station.

Good luck.
