Hi there,

My daughter is coming over to visit for a few weeks and although she's on holiday she is keen to help where possible in the local community with any charities needing some extra help. She's a big animal lover and worked at stray cat and dog rescues before so can pick up things very quickly. Other interests are homelessness, old age organisations and human and animal rights. She has a basic understanding of Spanish having spent time in South America. Any advice on charities in the local area would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Hi again,

In Albox you have APSA, Puppy Rescue and now Maz's Canine Rescue. In Huecal Overa it's Spanish Hunting Dog Rescue.

When next in Albox why'not pop into the 3 local ones & enquire?' If there are any others the ladies will know of them . If you find Almeria Focus Magazine & directory on line I believe Animal Charities are listed.

Good.for her.

Best Wishes,

Bob and Sandra (again).

Bob and Sandra

The font of all knowledge. Thanks once more for your help. Maz's rescue seems too much of a coincidence given the shared name! Will certainly check out.

Thank you!

Hi Maz

What a great thing for your daughter to do.  We have recently bought a place in Turre, near to Mojacar, and I have seen first hand just how wonderful Paws-Patas are to animals in distress.  They have a fantastic network of extremely kind people who once they hear of an animal in distress immediately come together to help.  If you look on their website they also have accommodation for students who want to help and I can't express how fantastic these people are.  I would be extremely happy to help your daughter come on board with Paws-Patas so just let me know.

Regards, Amanda...
