Covid-19 Uk

Most of Europe is undergoing quite an onslaught from Covid-19. The UK is no exception. My main interest is Rep of Ireland's anti -covid performance and for some weeks and I've ignored what is happening elsewhere except for Spain. I'm no great supporter of Boris Johnson. In fact, I'm probably in the top 5 of his criticizing people on this forum. Yes, he's made mistakes (some of them catastrophic) regarding the Coronavirus, but like it or not he's all the UK has got as I write. I won't compare him to Winston Churchill but GB's WW2 political hero was almost a persona-non-grata during WW1. 

On television yesterday, I saw a much chaste Boris Johnson. Certainly, he appeared differently than say last March. His showmanship is muted to almost nil now. At last, it appears the UK Anti-Covid game is on. Most of the contributors on this forum are not stupid and we've seen stupid posts from those who last March thought "the UK will get it just about right." Boris Johnson wasn't on the beaches of south coast England, he wasn't travelling without a mask in packed public transport. Boris Johnson suffered from the virus and nearly died. Some of his advisors couldn't back a winning horse if they backed every horse in the race. 

The UK is suffering at the moment. The amount of infections and deaths because of Covid are horrendous. It ain't Boris Johnson, it's some of the people who couldn't give a whit about anybody else. Look at some posts on this forum where people report the flouting of restrictions. Facebook is full of people who won't wear face masks. Self distancing and washing of hands are easy, but how many do it? Forget about circuit-breakers and wash hands properly, keep self distancing and wear face masks and Covid-19 will become history. Literally, the cure is in our own hands. We are all in this together but nobody told the brain-dead.

the attitude and behaviour of some of the youth of the UK is the main reason the virus is running out of control there.  yet again last night they were out on the streets drinking and behaving as if it doesn't concern them.  BJ should make more of making an example of them to the rest of the country and show the younger victims of the virus in hospital to show that they are not immune.

there is NO DETERRANT for any wrong doing  from a man that could not lead a dog its food i mean look at it

I don't think there can be an effective deterent when so many are protesting and vandalising. These people outnumber the police and as soon as you crack down hard, they are ready to accuse the police of violence!

Many young people who are fed-up and idiots who deny the existence of the virus as well as extreme right wing groups of fascists are causing havoc in many Spanish cities too.  In Barcelona they were tearing up the pavement tiles and throwing them at the police and a TV cameraman got hit as well.  The extreme right political party VOX is encouraging many of these groups via WhatsApp to rebel against what they see as a Socialist-Marxist government!  They are always inventing lies about conspiracies on their websites.  I don't envy anyone a future in this world as it is at the moment, but it's not much fun being old in the present climate either!

DAM right they do , once again thank god i live in Spain and not in the former UK, its my family i feel sorry for stuck in a society that cant enforce anything at all, wish they could come here and live OH they cant coz Britex has screwed that up for them to settle here as they dont make 27K a year here

If any government exercises any strong arm tactics there'll be anti establishment protests. The restrictions against Covid are the personal responsibility of everyone. Working the restrictions is common sense and responsible people participate.

Then there are the clotts who won't keep restrictive distances, refuse to wear face masks and won't even wash their hands. Most of us are tolerant people and tend to be nice to the people who refuse to adhere to the restrictions. They know this too and still they refuse to comply. 

Have I a solution? No. We'll always have these dopes who won't think of the number of deaths for which they are responsible. At least Harold Shipman was convicted; none of the people who refuse to comply with restrictions will be convicted although they too may be murderers.
