My wife and I are both in our 60s and love it here, we live in Arboleas. 

There is a social night at Bar la Panto in Albox on Thursday nights, based around darts (players of all levels) and any table games, or just a good rattle! Very friendly atmosphere, on from 6.30 to 10.00. Search for Bar La Panto - Mark and Syl on Facebook 

There is a Stitch Club co-run by my wife on a Thursday morning in the room below the Hostel Meason from 10.00 to 1.00 on the main road into arboleas. There are usually 15 to 20 ladies with any transportable craft, sewing with machines, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, a lady that does nails as a hobby.  Again a very friendly atmosphere and very welcoming. Cost is 2€ a morning and 1€ if you don't attend, first day is free. Look for Dot Dawes on Facebook.

We are here from today for a week doing some bits in the villa and more looking around.

You would be very welcome at either, or both if you have the time......

Can only suggest that you pop into the Town Hall and make some enquiries, usually these "conversational" Spanish classes area normally held in the evening and held at a local school / college.
