Hi Can anyone tell me what documents I need to take a Luton size box van with some furniture and personal items back to the UK. I have had 5-6 quotes from different removal companies and to be honest the charges are astronomical, so I will be hiring a van and doing it myself, but I need to know what documents I need as I have asked my solicitor and she doesn’t know!! And the Spanish website isn’t much help, so I would be grateful for any help concerning this matter. Thanking you in advance.

the gov.uk site gives all the relevant information including the forms needed and the extra information and documentation to import your personal goods.  It is important to do this as they can take the goods and vehicle at customs if you fail to follow the rules.

I did this last year. so you need to itemise all the items you are bringing back and their cost, the forms are on the Uk web site,  The form you need is called TOR (transfer of residence) it can be down loaded on

Good luck,

We have a uk registered van for sale if you’re interested but probably too expensive for your needs. It’s a Ford Transit custom L1H1. We brought all our stuff here in it so might be big enough. At least you would have the money in the van then to sell it on rather than dead money paying to hire. I realise this may not be an option for you but thought I’d let you know. Contact me if interested. 😊

Hi thank you for your reply, how much are you selling the van for and what van is it?
